kidcooks-taking-overI just finished tweeting about this very topic. They’re everywhere, and they’re getting great @ cooking. I guess that’s the whole point right? I have to admit I do love it just as much as they do. And so many of our family members just can not understand why I have so must patients when it comes to working with kids in the kitchen.

You can always read my other blog back @ the Raising Chefs’ site and comment we really want to know that you come by to visit. Thanks!

I’m feeling so stupid right now because I know I can get way better pictures then I’m current shooting. Why is this so frustrating for me. I know my camera’s a few years old but it still has potential I know…

I can not afford to take any photography classes so I must learn this on my own but it’s hard I tell you. I want my food shots for the “Raising Chef’s” book to be mouth-watering like they are  and I need that to come off that way on the photo. If there’s anyone out there that knows what I’m talking about please, please comment. I need all the help I can get. Or if you know in what direction I should be looking for answers that will work also.

I love that title for this blog, because it tells my whole story. I’m a culinary home chef trying to develop, write, and self-publish my own line of cookbooks and this is my blog I run to promote the entire process.  There are so many highs and lows to this process, that I need and want to get out because I have no one else I can share this experience with.

I was just talking with my husband Shun regarding how long its been since I announced I was even thinking of writing this cookbook. (2 years)  He pointed out that it’s a long process and for this to be my first, when it’s completed it’s completed!

The truth is we like many of you are living hand to mouth.  Anything extra will hurt so much more in the long run.  When times get hurt and I can’t test a recipe or take a food shot of a small weekend meal I get discouraged to even post that experience, thinking of not bringing the blog down to that pitty level.  It helps to share the entire picture so that if there are others that are having the same issues my story and experience is published.

So please be aware that this blog will have posts on what the day brings within the process of developing this cookbook.  What’s happening in my life regarding this book or other culinary projects I’m working on.  The ups and downs, highs and lows of everything this culinary home chef goes through as the publishing production gets underway.

I receive small message emails from Tyler Perry every so offen. This last one in particular opened my eyes a little. He explains many times he tried and tried to get his plays off the ground and many times it failed. But the thing is, he kept going until it worked. So that’s what I’m trying to focus on, in hopes of getting my many projects off the ground, this year.

Welcome to my culinary journey from kitchen, to table, to blog, to book and everything in between. Having a passion for cooking, entertaining, and internet blogging this is my online journey. Kitchen spills, cooking with kids, feeding a house full, this promises to be a testimony of how I deal and enjoy the small things in life one spoon, knife and forkful at a time.
